Lincoln Square at a glance
Lincoln Square runs from Bryn Mawr and Peterson Avenues in the north down to Montrose Avenue, and from Ravenswood Avenue in the east to the Chicago River in the west. Inside it are Ravenswood, Ravenswood Gardens, Bowmanville and Budlong Woods. The commercial heart is where Lawrence, Western and Lincoln Avenues meet, and the Brown Line serves the area.
Housing here is mostly private homes and small apartment buildings, which means lots of detached garages facing the alleys. The parks give good landmarks for a pickup: Winnemac Park at Damen and Foster (next to Amundsen High School), Welles Park at Lincoln and Montrose across from Sulzer Regional Library, and River Park along the river south of Foster, where the North Shore Channel Trail starts.
Pickup notes for Lincoln Square
- Alley garages. The most common spot. Tell us whether the door opens fully and whether the car rolls. A car with flat tyres or a locked wheel is fine; the driver just needs to know.
- Near the Lincoln, Western and Lawrence junction. Give the side street, not the corner.
- Street parking. The block and nearest cross street is enough. If your block is a permit zone, a short pickup isn't a problem.
Minivans and SUVs from the side streets
If the car in the garage is a minivan or SUV, size is part of the offer. The reasons are on our page to sell a junk SUV or minivan.
Knowing your number before you call
If you want to understand the offer before you send the form, read how much you can get for your junk car. It maps each form field to what it does to the number, with no invented averages.
