How cash for junk cars works
Selling a junk car to Insta Cash for Junk Cars takes four moves: you send four details online, we call you with a cash offer, a tow truck collects the car for free, and you're paid at pickup. Here is each part, including what can slow it down.
How does cash for junk cars work?
- Send the car's year, make, model and title status, then your name, phone and pickup location.
- Take our call: we ask about condition and give you a cash offer.
- Agree a pickup time. Towing is free and same-day is often possible.
- The driver checks the car matches, you sign it over, and you're paid at pickup.
From form to payment
Nothing is final until the car is checked at pickup. Until you sign it over and you're paid, you can change your mind.
You send four details
Year, make, model and whether you have the title, plus how to reach you and the pickup spot.
We call with a number
The form promises a call within 15 minutes. We ask a few condition questions (does it run, is anything missing) and give you the offer.
A truck collects the car
Towing is free. Same-day pickup is often possible. The driver checks the car matches what you told us.
You are paid at pickup
Payment happens when the car is collected, not days later.
The form: four details, then you
The first part of the form is about the car: year, make, model, and whether you have the title. Those four set a first number, and the reasons are spelled out in how an instant junk car offer is worked out. The second part is about you: your name, your phone number, and where the car is (a city, a ZIP or a street address).
No price appears on the screen when you press the button. You see a confirmation, and a person calls you.
The call: condition and the number
The form promises a call within 15 minutes. On the call we check the details, ask a few questions the form can't (does it start, is anything missing, any fire, flood or heavy collision damage) and give you the offer. You can accept, think about it, or say no.
The honest thing to know here: an offer is built on your description. Tell us what you actually know, including what you don't know. "It ran last spring, I haven't tried since" is a perfectly good answer.
The pickup: what the driver checks
Towing is free, and same-day pickup is often possible. When the truck arrives, the driver checks four things: the name on the paperwork matches your ID, the VIN matches the title, the car is complete as described, and its condition matches. That's the whole check. We explain each one, and the reasons an offer can move, in why a junk car offer can change at pickup.
Paperwork
- With a title: you sign it over at pickup.
- Without a title: we can still help. Tell us what papers you have (bill of sale, registration, insurance card). Illinois rules decide which papers work for a scrap sale, and we'll confirm on the call.
- Registration only: choose that option on the form and we go through it on the call.
Getting paid
You're paid at pickup, when the car is collected. Ask on the call how payment is made so you know what to expect on the day.
Getting the car ready
- Empty the car: glovebox, trunk, under the seats, sun visors, child seats.
- Have the title ready, or the papers we agreed on the call if there's no title.
- Take the plates off if you want to keep or return them.
- Make sure the truck can reach the car, and tell us if it doesn't roll.
